Montessori at Home: objects and words

This work invite children to match the CVC word label and the object/picture. The child will familiar with the names of these items because they have seen them in their sound pouches and played the “I spy” game with these objects. Before starting this work you can invite the child to name each object, you can name the objects as well and put emphasis on the initial sound. Remember we are not trying to trick the child, we are trying give them support so they will be confident and able to read independently in due time. This work can be done with pictures or objects, in may be easier to obtain pictures than it is objects.
