My Mission:
support mamas well.
Prepared Beginnings Lactation is a holistic lactation practice supporting moms who feel stuck, hopeless, or frustrated with their infant feeding journey. We help reassure mothers that they were designed to breastfeed by discovering their ability to nurture their baby, uncover their true early motherhood journey, and implement a sustainable plan that moves their breastfeeding experience from feeling cloudy and defeated to clarity and empowerment!
“ Morgan helped me to process my difficult breastfeeding experience with baby #1 as I prepared for the arrival of baby #2. Even as the birth of baby #2 did not go to plan, I was so grateful to have talked through the plan and various approaches with Morgan. She is friendly, knowledgeable and wants to empower moms in their breastfeeding journey.”

FAQs
What is your approach when it comes to lactation support?
Intentional & holistic. My goal is to meet each family where they are and walk alongside providing relevant, timely, clear, evidenced based information. As a member of your healthcare team I will work with your other providers when collaboration is needed.
Why book with an IBCLC?
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant am I have earned a global designation to provide the highest level of lactation support. Lactation consultants do not diagnose or prescribe unless they have other designations to do so. As a Registered Nurse I do not diagnose or prescribe, a referral will be provided to you for anything outside of the scope of an IBCLC. To read more visit the IBCLC website
How do I chat with you before booking?
Breastfeeding is an intimate area of motherhood. There are vulnerabilities that come along with the phase of breastfeeding and milk making. Before booking a consultation I invite you to email me any time: lactation@preparedbeginnings.com
Will you follow up with my pediatrician?
After each visit I will fax a report to your pediatricians office including any referrals or follow up needs.
How long are visits?
An average initial visit is 90 minutes most follow up visits are about 1 hour
Can I follow up with you?
Yes you can message or call me with follow up questions regarding your initial visit, follow up visits are required for additional support or for new concerns and can be scheduled through the patient portal.
What type of payments to you accept?
Debit/Credit Card, HSA/FSA, cahs, payment plans are available and must be arranged prior to booking. At this time Prepared Beginnings Lactation does not bill insurance. You will be provided with a coded Superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Most insurance companies will cover lactation support, check before booking if you want to ensure reimbursement, some plans may require a physician referral. Check your insurance coverage through The Lactation Network.
Do you support families who combo feed?
YES! Each family walks along the road that is best for them. All mamas do not have the goal of exclusively breastfeeding & other mamas may face challenges that prevent a full supply. Regardless of the situation all families deserve expert support and a custom plan.
What led you to become an IBCLC?
A large part of my journey to becoming an IBCLC was sprouted from my complex breastfeeding journey with my first son. I’ve experienced many of the same roadblocks that you are facing and understand the emotions when dealing with both the enduring trials as well as exciting ease of breastfeeding. I wanted to provide relevant support and encouragement to families that may feel discouraged in their breastfeeding journey. I also am a young working mama and understand the demands and pressures of motherhood with littles at home.
How does a virtual breastfeeding consultation work?
All virtual consultations take place in my HIPPA compliant portal Practice Better. All payments, forms, resources, messaging, and follow-up will take place through your Practice Better patient profile. Booking an appointment at a time when your baby is hungry will be most ideal to get the most out of our consultation.
Tips: Good lighting and sometimes having a second person to help hold your phone/tablet may be helpful depending on the nature of the consultation.
