DIY Colored Salt
Colored Sand
One thing we used a lot of the years is colored salt to practice writing our numbers, letters and shapes. Colored sand is not the most cost effective supplies to purchase since it will inevitably be spilled and thrown away over time. My children like the sensory experience of writing in salt, so I’m sharing our quick DIY Colored salt recipe here.
You will need
Salt
Food Coloring
Pour the desired about of salt into a bowl or resealable bag, add a few drops of food coloring and stir, mix or shake until the food coloring is dispersed throughout the salt. Lay a cookie tray to dry for a few hours and then the salt should be ready to use. Store in a jar or resealable bag until your ready to use again.
