Practical Life: getting dressed for Winter

We live in the Midwest which usually means cold, but also unpredictable winters. My son was so excited for snow each winter but sometimes there would be stretches that were simply cold and dry. He would longingly look at his winter gear, desiring to put it on.

Problem solved: Practical life work – getting dressed for Winter

I decided to set up practical life work that invited him to practice putting on his snow gear even on days that were not snowy. He loved putting on his gear and stomping around the house. This has been a staple in our house each Winter and has helped so much on days that we want to get out in the snow and play. On days that it did snow, he was ready to put on his gear by himself, because he had been practicing for weeks.
