Easy Play Dough Recipe

We typically make this play dough once a month. Mostly because it cost a lot less than buying play dough at the store and also because we can make the colors that we want. I recommend buying these simple ingredients in larger quantities that way you will always have them on hand.

Play Dough ingredients

Ingredients

2 cups flour

1 cup table salt

4 teaspoons cream of tartar (optional)

2 cups of boiling water

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Food coloring

Let’s Get Started (see photos below)

Add flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a large bowl.

Add water and oil.

Divide dough batter into separate bowls and add food coloring.

“Cook” the dough 1 color at a time, in an electric skillet at 250 degrees.

Once the dough forms put in on a sheet of wax paper to cool.

Store dough in air tight containers.
