Pink Tower Extensions

Welcome back to the preschool page, today I’m writing about how we continue to add on to our Montessori material by adding more challenging work. These extensions continue to pique her interest in the Pink Tower which is wonderful because the material is so versatile.

 Extension 1 Pink Tower Cards

Trace one face of each cube on pink paper. Cut out and glue to a white card.

Invite child to match cubes to the cards

Invite child to place cards in order from smallest to largest and vice versa.

Extension 2 Build a pink tower with 2D images.

Invite child to cut out the paper cubes and then match the face to the write cube.

Invite child to glue the paper tower together on a sheet of paper.

Extension 3 Combining the Pink Tower and the Brown (Broad) Stair

I found some photos of my son using the pink tower and brown stair together. The faces of the cubes and rectangular prisms have the name dimensions and can be stacked on each other. This takes patience and focus on the behalf of your preschooler, and often times this learning just happens organically.
